Kitchen Renovations

A kitchen that works the way you cook

Kitchen fitting and full refits across Blackfield and Southampton, including the wall removal, plastering and making good that most kitchen quotes leave out.

What's included

What a kitchen refit covers

Everything below is part of a kitchen refit with us, and it is all itemised separately on the quote so you can see what each part costs.

  • Removing the old kitchen and disposing of it
  • Taking out walls or blocking up doorways to change the layout
  • Replastering and making good before anything is fitted
  • Fitting units, worktops, sinks and splashbacks
  • Flooring, skirting and tiling
  • Final connection by qualified electrical and gas trades

How the job runs

How we approach kitchen refits

Four stages, in this order, because running them out of order is what causes finished work to be partly undone later.

  1. We measure and talk through the layout

Where the sink, hob and fridge sit decides how the room works. We measure up and talk through what can move and what the walls and services will allow.

  2. The quote separates units from the building work

You see what the fitting costs and what the structural and plastering work costs as separate lines, so you are not comparing a bare fitting price against a full job.

  3. Structural and plastering go first

Walls out, doorways blocked, services moved, then plaster. Getting this done before the units arrive is what stops a new kitchen being fitted to an unfinished room.

  4. Fitting, then finishing

Units, worktops, tiling and flooring, then skirting and decoration, with the room cleared and cleaned at the end.

FAQ

Kitchen Renovations: common questions

The questions people ask most before booking kitchen refits.

Structural work comes first, every time. Walls coming out, doorways being blocked up, and any moving of electrics, water or gas all have to happen before plastering. Plaster then needs to dry before flooring and units go in. Fitting the kitchen is one of the last stages, not the first, and jobs that get run out of this order are the ones that end up being partly redone.
