What's included

What a whole-house renovation covers

Everything below is part of a whole-house renovation with us, and it is all itemised separately on the quote so you can see what each part costs.

  • Strip-out and safe removal of old fittings, floors and ceilings
  • Structural repairs and opening up where the layout needs to change
  • First and second fix joinery throughout
  • Replastering and skimming room by room
  • Flooring, skirting, architrave and door hanging

How the job runs

How we approach whole-house renovations

Four stages, in this order, because running them out of order is what causes finished work to be partly undone later.

  1. We walk the property with you

We look at every room, listen to what you want from the space, and say plainly what is straightforward and what is not.

  2. You get the costs broken down

The quote is itemised by stage rather than given as one lump, so you can see what each part of the work costs and decide what goes in.

  3. Problems get flagged, not buried

Older properties hide things behind plaster and under floors. When a strip-out turns something up, we show you, explain the options and price it before going further.

  4. The work runs stage by stage

Structural first, then first fix, plastering, second fix and decoration, in an order that does not mean undoing finished work later.

    Whole house renovation

“Currently renovating my sons house that he recently purchased. It's a project, like homes under the hammer. Discovered a couple of problems during the rip out. Brett came to property and advised on what needed doing to put right. We gave him the go ahead and he has completed the works to a very exceptional standard. Would not hesitate to recommend him.”

FAQ

Home Renovations: common questions

The questions people ask most before booking whole-house renovations.

For a typical three-bedroom house, a full renovation usually runs somewhere between three and six months, depending on how much structural work is involved and whether you are living in it at the time. A single-room refurbishment is normally a matter of weeks. We give you a stage-by-stage programme with the quote so you can see where the time actually goes.
