Four stages, in this order, because running them out of order is what causes finished work to be partly undone later.
We look at what is behind the old one
Bathrooms hide water damage. We talk through what we are likely to find once the tiles come off, so a repair later is not a surprise.
The layout is agreed before anything is ordered
Moving a soil pipe is a different job from moving a basin. We work out what the room allows and price the options separately.
Strip out, repair, then waterproof
Anything rotten gets replaced rather than tiled over, and wet areas are tanked before a single tile goes on. This is the part that decides whether a bathroom lasts.
Tiling, fitting and finishing
Tiling, then the suite, then sealing, flooring and decoration, with the room cleaned and the waste taken away.

A straightforward refit in the same layout is usually one to two weeks. Moving the suite around the room, or dealing with floor repairs found during strip-out, adds to that. Tiling and sealing cannot be rushed at the end without affecting how long the finish lasts.
